My timeline has been full of good dudes the last few weeks. It started with the love for Doug Emhoff (the second gentleman of the United States) who is the epitome of the second fiddle husband, happy to support his superstar wife take the limelight.
Then we had the parade of good dudes at the Olympics and I'm not just talking about the pole heavy French pole vaulter. Stephen Nedoroscik took the internet by storm by looking like a guy who waters his houseplants regular while also dominating a pommel horse with elite precision. We've also had a parade of supportive husbands and boyfriends who have played cheerleader while the female athletes have taken center stage. This olympics really has been a femininomenon.
We started the year off with the rise of the cultural force of positive masculinity that is the Kelce brothers. They model a bona-fide unapologetic jock dude-ness that does not demean anything feminine, nor needs to pretend to be tough or fearless. Just good dudes.
But now we have perhaps the epitome of do-good decent-human positive masculinity in vice presidential candidate Tim Walz. The man is an infectious dose of dad energy. He is a lifelong public servant that doesn't own a single stock or share. Not even a second property. He has done a raft of good things for the people of Minnesota and is scandal free. So what do all these men have in common?
